My art practice focuses on 3 dimensional sculptural forms. I use many different materials and techniques; these are often inspired by the recycled and found objects in the pieces. Growing up I was encouraged to use all the tools and equipment in my Father’s shed. This has led me to explore as an adult varied ideas and ways of practicing my art. I often source the materials and then use them in a sympathetic way to represent the figure and other forms. I enjoy primarily working with wire which can be a very difficult medium, although this difficulty working with the material becomes very much a part of the artwork. There is a vast amount of repetition and patterning in my work. I have always been fascinated by collecting and cataloging, the finished piece telling a story of history and origins.
