Small Seated Sekhmet
Sekhmet was a powerful Goddess with attributes of the lioness. This piece was carved in wax in the style of ancient Egyptian art, cast in the lost wax method at Chalkos Art Foundry. Love of ancient Egyptian mythology and archetypal energy was motivation here.

Lynette is originally from North Queensland, grew up in Brisbane and completed an Assoc. Diploma of Visual Arts QUT. She has been a prolific artist over the last 3 decades with a broad interest in printmaking, etching, painting, three dimensional sculpting. She aims to to rescue and nourish spirituality through expression of her work. Lynette has exhibited at many exhibitions throughout Queensland, most notably at the Roz MacAllan Art Gallery Brisbane and Galley 482 from 1990 through to 2000, ‘Fertile Ground” An exhibition of contemporary Australian works from the Griffith University Art Collection and “Small Works Wide Vision’ Downlands Art Exhibition Toowoomba and many of the Sculptors Queensland exhibitions. She has been awarded prizes for her works by Wide Bay Capricorn Society Open Award, Maroochy Art Festival, Gladstone Martin Hanson Memorial Award and her work is included in public works collections at Griffith University. She has published Images 2 Contemporary Australian Painting (1994) and New Art Six (1992), and multiple times in Eyeline Magazine (1990; 1992,1996).
