Since completing a BAVA, University of Newcastle, Susan has been a working sculptor, exhibiting in group shows and competitions. She worked at the University of Newcastle and has facilitated many community workshops. She was involved in Public Art Network [Newcastle], and commissioned by the Newcastle City Council and Lake Macquarie Art Galley to make large stainless steel sculptures. She now makes small sculptures using apoxy clay, wood, copper, and fibre. She enjoys collaborating to bring multiple streams of feeling into one work. Susan’s sculpture is a searching for the un-seen. Concepts are explored through imagery of birds, fairy tales and concern for the environment.
