The “Northshore Sculpture by the River”, a Sculptors QLD exhibition, started in 2020 as a collaboration between Sculptors QLD and Economic Development Queensland. EDQ wanted to draw public interest to the growing Northshore area and the stunning river side landscape. What better way to wander the winding paths along the Brisbane river looking at stunning sculptures by local artists. This vision materialised into what we now know as the “Northshore Sculpture by the River”.

Over the years, the exhibition has grown in scope and popularity, attracting sculptors from across Queensland some of whom exhibit across Australia and even internationally. Held annually, the exhibition typically features a diverse range of sculptures, from traditional to contemporary, crafted using various materials including metal, stone, wood, and more.

Beyond its artistic significance, the exhibition has become a platform for community engagement, drawing locals and visitors alike. It fosters a sense of unity and appreciation for art’s ability to connect people with their surroundings. Through its history, “Northshore Sculpture by the River” has not only contributed to the cultural landscape of Queensland but has also nurtured the creative spirit of sculptors while enchanting audiences with its riverside charm.
