For me, art is about observing. I am often deeply influenced by things and events around me; and, as an artist, my endeavour is to interpret my reactions and thoughts, into paintings and into sculpture.
My focus is always one of optimism. Most often the titles for my works come before the work. It’s words and metaphors that I find interesting and that I take inspiration from.
My background is in Interior Design, having won many awards for my work. I have been a full time artist for 20 years.
I hold a Certificate of Fine Art, a Diploma of Fine Art and also a Master of Fine Art Degree from QUT Kelvin Grove.
I have won many awards for my work, being a finalist in the Blake Prize for Religious Art; twice selected for both the Stanthorpe Arts Festival and also the Noosa Regional Gallery Travelling Scholarship, and also selected for the Gold Coast Art Prize.
I have lived most of my life in Brisbane, however I have just returned to live in the Bay of Islands, New Zealand, my homeland and birthplace. I am represented by several galleries in Australia and also New Zealand.
