Gold Coast based Pete Dennison trained as a French Polisher before moving into three-dimensional art and sculptural furniture. Three-time winner Taos, New Mexico for his Lost World series.
Gold coast based artist Pete Denison has been working with wood for 40 years. Trained as a French Polisher and then moving into three-dimensional art and sculptural furniture, Pete’s work is evocative and highly skilled. When living in Taos, New Mexico, Pete’s Lost World series was awarded Best of Show for three consecutive years. His latest body of work is a series of deep bass relief panels that capture a suspended moment in time.
In this talk, Pete will take us through the process involved in creating his bass relief panels. He will discuss how he develops the concept, executes the design and the challenges he encounters along the way. He will share tips and methods to speed up the process and achieve exact likeness in his subjects. The talk will be of interest to sculptors of any level
