Welcome to the Brisbane Sculpture Festival 2024

Some of Queensland’s most prominent sculptors will be exhibiting their art at the Auditorium and gardens of the Mt Coot-tha Botanical gardens.  Visitors can view or purchase these sculptures, visit the indoor exhibition, and talk directly to the Sculptors. 

The Outdoor exhibition is a trail through the fabulous Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens. The exhibition trail opens for viewing on Friday 24 May until Saturday 24th August during the Garden opening hours (8am – 4pm). Step into a magical wonderland where sculptures of all shapes and sizes dot the landscape, transforming the Botanic Gardens into a vibrant outdoor art gallery. Every sculpture tells a unique story, inviting you to explore and unravel its secrets.

While leisurely walking through the along this beautiful tropical garden paradise, enjoying the great art on display, you can also enjoy:

  • Botanical Gardens Cafe – great location for coffee, breakfast or lunch – open Monday to Sunday 8:30am –4pm. Bookings suggested for Groups Ph: 07 3268 2406
  • Sir Thomas Brisbane Planitarium– the Planetarium is home to the Cosmic Skydome – a 12.5-metre-diameter projection dome. Visit the Planetarium to enjoy a show (including a tour of Brisbane’s night sky), and tour the Display Zone.  Including Pink Floyds “Dark Side of the Moon” experience (bookings required).
  • Queensland Herbarium is the centre for research and information on Queensland flora, vegetation and plant communities.
  • Picnic areas The gardens are a great place for picnics. Facilities include picnic tables and seats in shaded areas. There are also toilets and drinking fountains throughout the gardens.

Sculpture Demonstrations

Some of our artists will be conducting demonstrations of their creative techniques,  at the Auditorium Saturday 25th, Sunday 26th, Saturday 1st 11am and 2pm.

Tours

During the Indoor Exhibition dates, small group tours of the artwork will offered by our sculptors daily at 11am and 2pm leaving from the Auditorium. Get ready to explore, discover, and uncover the magic behind the art!

After 1st June, tours of the outdoor sculptures will be held by appointment only. Please email exhibitions@sculptorsqld.org.au at least 2 days before you wish to schedule a date for a small group tour of the outdoor sculptures.

If you opt for the convenience of driving,  free parking is available in the garden’s main carpark. Overflow parking is available in an additional carpark adjacent to the site, accessible via Ada Street.

Note that after the 1st June only outdoor sculptures will be on display.  However, Indoor works will still be available for sale through the web site.
